Nursing Home Abuse / Elder Abuse is perhaps one of the most under reported crimes in New York State.  Our research indicates that the families and the victims of these crimes do not want to report the injuries for fear of being forced to move out of the facility or fear of reprisal from the facility or other people living in the nursing home.  At times the nursing homes themselves might fail to accurately document incidents such as medicine mix-ups and injuries to nursing home residents for fear of Medicare penalties and license revocation from New York State.
